This article was previously published under Q288471

SUMMARY

It is recommended that you run Outlook 2001 for Mac with virtual memory enabled for the most efficient operation.

MORE INFORMATION

Power Macintosh computers manage memory efficiently by swapping code from memory to the hard disk. Because of this design, if virtual memory is turned off, programs may require a larger memory partition in order to run.

Use the following steps to turn on virtual memory:
  1. On the Apple menu, click Control Panels, and then click Memory
  2. In Virtual Memory, click On.
  3. Close the Memory control panel, and then restart your computer.
