SUMMARY

Event ID: 4126
Source: Application Center
Description: Single-host port rules not supported for NLB
Event Type: Error

Single-host port rules are not supported for network load balancing (NLB). Remove all existing single-host port rules manually on the member by using the Port Rules tab on the Network Load Balancing property sheets for the network adapters.

Meaning: Single-host port rules are not supported in managed-network load balancing mode. Remove all existing single-host port rules manually by using the NLB configuration dialog box.

Effect: Application Center management of NLB will not work properly until this change is made. (You can also use a third-party load balancing solution.)

Port rules: The port rules conflict with those required by Application Center. To remove the port rules:
  1. Open the Network and Dial-up Connections utility.
  2. Select Local Area Connection and open its property sheets.
  3. Select Network Load Balancing from the list of services and protocols and open its property sheets.
  4. Select the Port Rules property sheet.
  5. Manually configure the settings.

    The correct settings are:

    Port range: 0-65536
    Protocols: Both
    Affinity: Single
Load weight: 50. (You must clear the Equal check box before you can change this value.)
    Equal: selected
    Multiple hosts: selected
