SYMPTOMS

When you try to instantiate a Workflow Designer for SQL Server template that was created on a server with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on a server with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, you receive the following error messages
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Database options 'ANSI padding' does not exist.
followed by:
The wizard is unable to create an application.

Instantiation of templates between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 7.0 is not supported.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Take a Workflow Designer for SQL Server template that was created on a server with SQL Server 2000 to a server with both Microsoft Office XP Developer and SQL Server 7.0 installed.
  2. Start the Workflow Manager for SQL Server.
  3. Click the Templates tab, and then click Import from File.
  4. Find the template file on your computer, and then click Open.
  5. After the name of the template is added to the list, click Instantiate Template to start the SQL Server Workflow Template Instantiation wizard.
  6. Click Next. Select the local server, and then click Connect.
  7. Click the template in the list, and then click Next.
  8. Click Next three more times, accepting all the defaults, and then click Finish to attempt to create the database.
