This article was previously published under Q286887 SYMPTOMS
When you make changes to your Microsoft Word document, the markup balloons that describe these changes may not appear in your document as expected, but instead are cut off at the bottom of the document window.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when many markup balloons of different types appear in your document.
Markup balloons of different types cannot be combined. When there are more markup balloons than can be displayed on a page, the balloons at the bottom of the page are not visible.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Show Only Certain Markup Balloons
Configure Word to display only certain types of markup balloons. To do so, follow these steps:
- On the Reviewing toolbar, click Show.
- On the drop-down menu, click to clear the check box of the markup type that you do not want displayed.
Example: To display only Comments and Formatting markup balloons, click to select both the Comments and the Formatting check boxes, and then click to clear the Insertions and Deletions check box.
Method 2: Use the Reviewing Pane
Display the Reviewing Pane. To do so, follow these steps:
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then select Reviewing.
- On the Reviewing toolbar, on the Show menu, click Reviewing Pane.
