WD2002: Cannot Reset Customized Bullets and Numbering Font Styles (286884)

SYMPTOMS

After you have applied a custom format to a paragraph's bullet or numbering style, you are unable to restore the default format by when you click Reset in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Remove and Then Apply the Reset Bullet or Number Style

To remove and then apply the reset bullet or number style, follow these steps:
  1. Select the paragraphs that you want to change.
  2. On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
  3. In the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, click None, and then click OK.
  4. On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
  5. Click the bullet or number style that you want to use and click OK.

Method 2: Customize the Bullet or Number Style

To customize the bullet or number style, follow these steps:
  1. Select the paragraphs that you want to change.
  2. On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
  3. In the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, click the bullet or number style that you want to change and click Customize.
  4. In the Customize dialog box, click Font, make the changes you want, and then click OK.
  5. Click OK to close the Customize dialog box.
