Money 2001: Error Message: Invoice Designer Has Detected That Microsoft Money 2001 Personal and Business Is Not Installed (286028)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start the Money Invoice Designer, you may receive the following error message:
Invoice Designer has detected that Microsoft Money 2001 Personal and Business is not installed. You must reinstall Money before using Invoice Designer.

Object variable or With block variable not set

CAUSE

This error message may occur when Microsoft Money is not completely installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, completely remove and reinstall Money. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Close Money.
  2. Move your data file from the Money directory to the Desktop or to the My Documents folder.
  3. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon, and remove Microsoft Money (use the Remove All option). Do not restart your computer, if you are prompted.
  4. In Windows Explorer, delete the Money directory, and make sure that there are no other Money directories on your hard disk. (Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.)
  5. Click Start, and then click Run. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
  6. Click the Startup tab, and click to clear the check boxes for all startup items in the list.
  7. Click OK, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.
  8. Reinstall Money.
  9. Move your data file back into the Money directory by using Windows Explorer. Double-click the data file to start Money.
  10. Verify that you can successfully start Money Invoice Designer.
  11. Click Start, and then click Run. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
  12. On the General tab, click Normal to add the startup items back in.
  13. Click OK and then restart the computer when you are prompted.
