This article was previously published under Q285387 SYMPTOMS
When you create a publication in Microsoft Publisher, and you then save the publication as a Web page, the Web page may not appear as you expect in Netscape 6. Graphic items may be moved, distorted, or not be visible at all. However, all the text appears as expected, and all the hyperlinks work correctly.
The same Web page opens as expected in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if, when you save the Publisher document as a Web page, you click to select the Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers check box on the Browsers tab of the Web Options dialog box.
Netscape does not support Vector Markup Language (VML).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- In Publisher, before you save the publication as a Web page, click Options on the Tools menu.
- In the Options dialog box, click Web Options.
- In the Web Options dialog box, click the Browsers tab.
- In the Options box, click to clear the Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers check box.
- Click OK twice.
- On the File menu, click Save as Web Page.
- Name the file, and then click Save.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
