PUB2002: Cannot Apply Custom Trap Settings to Object Shadows (285367)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q285367 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Publisher 2002, you may be unable to select an object shadow or apply a custom trap setting for an object shadow.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the object shadow takes on the default trap setting of the individual object. The default trap setting is determined by the conditions of each individual object in relation to the other objects that the default trap setting either covers or is covered by. By design, Publisher allows you to set the trapping for individual objects, but not the shadow characteristics of those objects.
MORE INFORMATION
When you create a drawing object, you can add a shadow to the object and then specify the color of that shadow. However, you are not able to change the Per Object Trapping setting for the shadow.
