The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q285359 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Publisher, when you insert an image into a block of text and then view the publication in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the punctuation in the sentence may not appear in its proper position. This behavior occurs even though the punctuation appears as expected when you view the publication in Publisher.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when an image is inserted near punctuation. The text wraps as expected. However, the punctuation may appear after the image and not immediately after the text. This is called "hanging punctuation".
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, adjust position of text or images until the punctuation appears in its proper place when you view it in Internet Explorer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
