XFOR: Task Information Not Migrated from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2000 Server (285335)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
This article was previously published under Q285335 SYMPTOMS
When you migrate Lotus Notes users' e-mail messages, calendar information, and tasks to Exchange 2000 Server by using the Migration Wizard for Exchange 2000, some migrated users may report that not all their tasks have been imported to their Outlook Tasks folder.
CAUSE
The Migration Wizard only migrates the tasks that are included in the Notes calendar. However, the Migration Wizard migrates these tasks differently in Notes R5 than in Notes 4.6, as described in the following procedures:
- In a Notes 4.6 mailbox database, there is a Display task on my calendar option for each task. By default, a task is not displayed in the calendar.
- A Notes 5.0 mailbox database does not have this option; it is set up in the preferences for all of the tasks instead of for each individual task, but it causes the same problem.
RESOLUTION
Use the following procedure on the tasks in a Notes 4.6 calendar. You also can refer to Notes Help for more assistance.
- Open your Notes mailbox in your Notes 4.6x client.
- Change to the "To Do" folder.
- Open an existing task that was not migrated.
- Click the Display task on my calendar button. The button will then change to Remove from calendar.
- Save the task.
- Run Migration Wizard for Exchange 2000 again. The task is migrated to Exchange 2000.
Use the following procedure on the tasks in Notes R5 calendar:
- Open your Notes mailbox within a Notes R5 client.
- Change to the "To-Do" section, and then click Preferences on the Tools menu.
- On the Calendar tab, click the To Do tab.
- Click to select the Always show current to do's in today's calendar check box.
- Click OK.
- Run Migration Wizard for Exchange 2000 again. The task is migrated to Exchange 2000.
MORE INFORMATION
The Migration Wizard does not migrate task information from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2000 within the wizard steps. It sends an e-mail message to the migrated user including an attachment (Notes_us.sc2).
Then, the user needs to use Microsoft Outlook to import the .sc2 file. The .sc2 file includes Task and Calendar information.
