SUMMARY

When you are using either Together Administration Management Agent (TAMA) or a drag-and-drop process, space objects will be created even if there is no drag-and-drop template (Crt.st file) defined.

MORE INFORMATION

When connector space objects are needed during either a drag-and-drop operation or when TAMA is starting, the existence of the drag-and-drop template is not required. The drag-and-drop template is stored in the directory as the zcDscConstruction attribute. It is normally recorded in the working directory of the management agent as the Crt.st file.

The two essential attributes for the successful creation of any new directory object include the distinguished name, and the appropriate object classes. Even when the zcDscConstruction attribute is missing, Metadirectory Services can create rudimentary connector space objects because:
  • The object class is automatically zcAliasThing.
  • The metaverse object's common name is used in order to create the connector space domain name.
In general, however, the construction template is required. The application of the template will allow the addition of other attributes, manipulation of the DN, or selective exclusions of certain object types.

For more information on the Construct New Accounts Template, see Chapter 6, "Building a Management Agent" in the Management Agent Toolkit online manual.
