Performance May Be Slow on Computer Running Windows 2000 Professional and WinGate (285042)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q285042 SYMPTOMS
When you start a Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional-based computer that is running Deerfield.com's WinGate program, you may notice poor speed performance. Task Manager shows that a Svchost.exe process is taking 99 percent of the CPU usage. When you analyze the .dll files running within that Svchost.exe, you find the Wglsp.dll file is among the list.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the Wglsp.dll file can slow down performance in the Svchost.exe process.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, rename Wglsp.dll to Wglsp.old, and then restart the computer.
