SYMPTOMS

When you play Microsoft Midtown Madness 2, the Force Feedback check box may be unavailable and there may be no forces in the game.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • A Microsoft Force Feedback 2 or a Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel game controller is connected to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on your computer.
  • A digital or analog game controller is connected to the game port on the sound card.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, quit the game, disconnect the game controller from the game port on the sound card, and then restart the game.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Midtown Madness 2.
