- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q284364 SYMPTOMS
When you receive a task request, it appears as a message instead of a task request.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server that is being used as a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol/ Post Office Protocol 3 (SMTP/POP3) server only preserves task requests if you have selected the Exchange RTF option. By default, the Exchange RTF option is not set.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, set the Exchange 2000 Server to use the Exchange RTF option. To do this:
- Go to Active Directory Users and Computers.
- On the View menu, click Advanced Features.
- Right-click a user, and then click Properties.
- On the Exchange Advanced tab, click Protocol Settings, and then click POP3.
- Click to clear the use protocol defaults check box, and then click Use Microsoft Exchange Rich Text formatting.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
