OL2002: Delay in Sending Mail from POP3 Account in Exchange Server (284328)

SYMPTOMS

When you add a Post Office Protocol (POP3) account to your Exchange Server profile in Outlook 2002, and then send a message using the new account, the message may sit in the Outbox.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, on the Outlook toolbar, click Send/Receive.

You can configure Outlook to send the message immediately:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Mail Setup tab, in the Send/Receive box, click to select the Send immediately when connected check box, and then click OK.
