"Check-In Error" Error Message Occurs When You Check In a File That Has Been Checked Out by Using a Shortcut (283953)

SYMPTOMS
When you use a shortcut to check out a document, and then you try to check in the document, you receive the following error message:
Check-In Error
You do not have permission to check in this document, or there are network problems preventing authentication from the server.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the original document target path instead of the shortcut to check in the document. To determine the original document target path, follow these steps:
- Right-click the shortcut.
- Click Properties, and then click the Find Target button.
