  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional

This article was previously published under Q283823

SYMPTOMS

If you attempt to put a Windows XP-based computer into hibernation, after you have started the Alaris WeeCam device, the computer is unable to hibernate. This behavior may also occur after you have started a Microsoft NetMeeting session.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the USB Alaris Camera device driver is not hibernate-compatible, and it prevents the computer from entering hibernation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, use any of the following methods:
  • Quit all programs, and then try again.
  • Remove the Alaris Camera.
  • Contact Alaris for an updated Alaris WeeCam driver that is hibernate-compatible.
