This article was previously published under Q283680 SYMPTOMS
If you attempt to use the F2 key to rename an item that is listed in the Favorites menu, the page loads quickly, and you cannot enter a new name.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if you use the mouse to click an item on the Favorites menu. In this case, the focus does not remain on the item, even though the item looks as if it is selected. You cannot use the F2 key to rename the item because there is no focus on the item.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue:
- Click the Favorites menu, and then click Organize Favorites.
- Click the item that you want to rename, and then click Rename.
- Type the new name, and then press ENTER.
- Either click the next item that you want to rename and repeat the process, or click Close.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
