The "$REPLACE" Function Cannot Be Used on Multiple-Value Attributes (283058)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Metadirectory Services 2.2
This article was previously published under Q283058 SYMPTOMS
If you use the $REPLACE function to manipulate a multiple-value attribute, the attribute may become a single-value attribute.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the first parameter of the $REPLACE function is treated as a template, and that template only uses the first value from multiple-value attributes.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, do not use the $REPLACE function to manipulate multiple-value attributes.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
