256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry

SUMMARY

When you use Regedt32.exe to save the Print registry key, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print, the Printers subkey is not saved. You have to save, and restore the Printers subkey separately.

To restore the Print key, you must first restore the Print key, and then create a key called Printers under the Print key. Next, restore the Printers subkey into the newly created key.
