This article was previously published under Q281951 SYMPTOMS
In a Windows 2000 Terminal Services environment with Citrix Metaframe, cross-server shadowing ignores the permissions in Windows 2000. A shadowed session is accessible even if the default permission is not to allow access.
CAUSE
In Windows 2000, if RpcWinStationShadowTargetSetup returns
False, meaning that a shadow is not allowed, WinStationShadowWorker
interprets the 0 that is returned as a Boolean value that indicates STATUS_SUCCESS because it believes that it received an NTSTATUS type.
