FP2002: Cannot Edit or Delete Browsers in "Preview in Browser" Dialog Box (281697)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot delete or edit the browsers that are listed in the Preview in Browser dialog box. You expect to be able to delete the browsers, because there is a Delete button and an Edit button in the Preview in Browser dialog box.

CAUSE

FrontPage automatically detects the browsers that are installed on your computer and makes these browsers available for you to choose when you click Preview in Browser on the File menu. You cannot remove the browsers that are automatically added to the Preview in Browser dialog box by FrontPage.

MORE INFORMATION

You can add additional browsers that have not been detected by FrontPage, and then use the Delete button to remove them, or use the Edit button to edit them.

To add a browser, follow these steps:
  1. Click Preview in Browser on the File menu.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the Name box, type the name of your additional browser.
  4. Click Browse, and then browse to find your additional browser.
  5. Click Open, and then click OK. The Delete and Edit buttons become available so that you can delete or edit your additional browser.
