SYMPTOMS

When you play an online multiplayer game of Microsoft Links 2001, you may notice that the game intermittently slows down, or appears to stop responding, while you wait for a remote player to swing.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if one of the players has the Show Tooltips feature turned off.

RESOLUTION

To avoid this problem, all online players should turn on the Show Tooltips feature. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the main menu, click Options.
  2. Click Game Settings.
  3. Under Miscellaneous, click to select the Show Tooltips check box.
  4. Click OK, and then click Back.
