This article was previously published under Q281357

SYMPTOMS

Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) folders that have non-Active Code Page (non-ACP) characters may not appear in Outlook 2002.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x to view the folder, and edit the folder name so that it appears in Outlook 2002.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The level where a folder with non-ACP characters exists in the Folder view does not matter. The behavior occurs whether the folder is on the same level as the Inbox or is a subfolder.
