You cannot open or edit an embedded object in a Rich Text Format message in Outlook (281046)

This article was previously published under Q281046 SYMPTOMSWhen you receive an e-mail message that includes an embedded object, for example, a Microsoft Paintbrush picture, you cannot open or edit the embedded object. This issue occurs when the message is in Rich Text Format.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, click the Forward button, and then double-click the object in the original message. Make the changes, and then click outside the object to quit Edit mode and return to the message.
