When you import a vCal file to Outlook 2002, the Browse box in the Import and Export wizard displays file types of iCal and not file types of vCal.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the focus in the Browse box defaults to file types of iCal.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, click the dropdown arrow in the Files of Type box, click to select vCalendar Format, and then navigate to the vCal item that you want to import. To do this:
- On the File menu, click Import and Export .
- Click Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs), and then click Next.
- In the Browse box, navigate to the file that you want to import. If the item is an iCal item, navigate to the item, and then click OK. If the item is a vCal file, click the dropdown arrow in the Files of Type box, click to select vCalendar Format so that the box displays vCal files, navigate and select the vCal file, and then click OK.
- The item imported now appears in the calendar.
