OL2002: The Hyperlink in Outlook Opens in the Current Instance of Internet Explorer (280810)

SYMPTOMS

When you click a hyperlink in an Outlook message, the current or latest instance of Microsoft Internet Explorer navigates to the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in the message instead of opening a new instance of Internet Explorer.

WORKAROUND

Use the following steps to work around this behavior:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click to clear the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts check box.
  5. Click OK.
