OFFXP: Labels Missing on Buttons and Tabs in the Language Settings Dialog Box (280629)

SYMPTOMS

When you open the Microsoft Office Language Settings dialog box, the labels may be missing from all buttons and tabs.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you change the font size settings in the Display Properties dialog box to a font size that is smaller than the normal size, or 100 percent.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, change the font size settings to 100 percent or greater. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
  4. On the General tab, in the Font Size list, click Other.

    Notice that the Custom Font Size dialog box appears.
  5. Under Sample, drag the ruler until the Scale fonts to be list displays a font size of 100 percent or greater, and then click OK twice.
  6. In the This font size setting may cause some programs to appear incorrectly message box, click OK.
  7. In the Display Properties dialog box, click Close.
  8. In the System Settings Change box, click Yes.

    Your computer automatically restarts.
