SUMMARY

When Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) SMTP Mail service is configured not to relay, it still accepts incoming e-mail messages for remote domains.

When relaying is disabled, e-mail messages that arrive for remote domains are placed into the BadMail folder. A non-delivery receipt (NDR) or "undeliverable mail" notification message is created and sent to the originator of this e-mail message (which is indicated by the reverse-path).
