Message Occurs Repeatedly After Deleting a Large Subtree (279816)

When you delete a large subtree of objects in the metadirectory with Microsoft Metadirectory Services (MMS) Compass, you may receive the following message:
This operation may take some time should the server take over?
Regardless of whether you click Yes or No, the message is displayed repeatedly every 30 to 60 seconds.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Click Yes, and then click another portion of the tree to move off the area where you deleted the subtree.
-or- - Close MMS Compass and start a new MMS Compass session.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
