This article was previously published under Q279712 SYMPTOMS
When you are working with a Visio Stencil window that is large enough to require a scrollbar, when you spin the Microsoft Intellimouse wheel, the window does not scroll up or down, as you would expect.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Use the Scrollbar and the Mouse Pointer
You can scroll the stencil window up or down by using one of the scroll arrows or the scroll box in the window.
Method 2: Use the Intellimouse AutoScroll Feature
You can use the AutoScroll feature of the Intellimouse. To do so, follow these steps:
- In Visio, point at a location within the stencil window, and then click and hold down the Intellimouse wheel.
Note the position of the origin mark that appears. - Move the pointer in the direction that you want the window to scroll. Note that the further you move the pointer away from the origin mark, the faster the window scrolls.
To quit AutoScrolling, click a button or press a key on the keyboard.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
