"STOP 0xA" or "STOP 0xD1" Error Messages Occur When You Attempt to Synchronize Exchange Server Mail (278945)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to synchronize Exchange Server mail when you are connected to a corporate network by using a virtual private network (VPN) dial-up connection, you may receive one of the following error messages:
STOP 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

-or-

STOP 0x000000D1 DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Wanarp.sys.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if Checkpoint VPN-1 SecuRemote firewall software beta version 4.165 is installed on the Windows 2000-based computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade to the released version of Checkpoint VPN-1 SecuRemote firewall software version 4.166 for Windows 2000.
