This article was previously published under Q277889 SYMPTOMS
When you use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor, you cannot insert a signature in a new message. However, a specified default signature is added to a new message.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods to insert a signature in a new message:
- Select and right-click the automatically-inserted signature, and then click another signature to replace the inserted signature.
- You can use the AutoText feature in Word to create an AutoText entry that contains your signature information and insert this in the new message. To do this:
- Type the text that you want to appear for your signature.
- Select the text.
- On the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and then click New.
- Give your AutoText a name that indicates your type of signature. This will now be available for new messages.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
