OL2002: You Cannot Insert a Signature When You Use WordMail (277889)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor, you cannot insert a signature in a new message. However, a specified default signature is added to a new message.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods to insert a signature in a new message:
  • Select and right-click the automatically-inserted signature, and then click another signature to replace the inserted signature.

    -or-

  • You can use the AutoText feature in Word to create an AutoText entry that contains your signature information and insert this in the new message. To do this:
    1. Type the text that you want to appear for your signature.
    2. Select the text.
    3. On the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and then click New.
    4. Give your AutoText a name that indicates your type of signature. This will now be available for new messages.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
