Cannot Use Bizdesk with Authfilter (277507)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Bizdesk, you may receive the following error message:
Error Type:
Commerce.AuthManager.1 (0x80070057)
AuthManager(CommerceServer): You should call 'AuthManager::Initialize()' method with a valid site-name, before calling any other AuthManager API. /retailbizdesk/AuthFiles/login.asp, line 13

CAUSE

This error occurs when you enable Custom authentication on the Bizdesk application of a site.

RESOLUTION

On the properties of the application, set the Bizdesk application to use no filter.

MORE INFORMATION

Although the Commerce Server Manager does not explicitly prohibit the use of Authfilter on the Bizdesk application, Microsoft recommends that you do not enable Authfilter on a Bizdesk application. Although Authfilter is designed to protect generic content, the Bizdesk application is not designed to use the Authfilter capabilities.
