SUMMARY

This article describes how to use a table view in Outlook with Microsoft Exchange Client and Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA).

MORE INFORMATION

In Outlook, a table view can include features, such as formula fields, combination fields, and sorting by more than one field, that Exchange Client does not support. If you share a private folder, create a public folder, or give someone delegate access to a folder, and the folder is used with Exchange Client or OWA, you can make custom table views available to Exchange Client and OWA users. You can set Outlook to automatically create a Microsoft Exchange Server version of the table view that Exchange Client and OWA users can use.

To make custom table views available to Exchange Client and OWA users, you must have owner permissions for the folder. When you create a custom table view for the folder, click the This folder, visible to everyone option. To do this:
  1. If the Folder List is not visible, click the View menu, and then click Folder List.
  2. Click Public Folders, and then right-click the folder for which you want to make table views available in a Microsoft Exchange Server.
  3. Click Properties on the Shortcut menu.
  4. On the General tab, click to select the Automatically generate Microsoft Exchange views check box.
  5. Outlook keeps a Microsoft Exchange Server version of the custom table views that you create or change from this point on.
NOTE: If you change the custom table view in Exchange Client, the changes are not saved in Outlook.
