WD2002: "Track Changes" Comments Overlap Table (275998)

In Microsoft Word, when you use the Track Changes feature, the comment balloons may overlap an inserted table and obscure the contents of the table.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when all of the following conditions are true:
- An inserted table extends beyond the margins of a document.
- You are in Web Layout or Print Layout view.
- The Track Changes feature is turned on.
The Track Changes balloons are designed to remain in the margins of a document and extend to the right of the document. If part of a document (for example, a table) extends into the margins, the Track Changes balloons overlap the part of the document that extends into the margins.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, change the size of the table to make it remain within the margins of the document.
To do so, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Page Setup.
- In the Page Setup dialog box, on the Paper tab, set the paper Width and Height settings to the size that you want.
- On the Margins tab, set the margins to the size that you want.
Note the maximum width that a document can be and still remain within the margins: paper width minus the left and the right margin. For example: 8.5"-1.25"-1.25"=6"
- Click OK.
- Select the inserted table.
- On the Table menu, click Table Properties.
- On the Table tab, set Preferred width to a value that will keep the table within the margins of the document.

On the Column or Cell tab, set Preferred width so that the value of the total number of columns multiplied by the cell width is small enough to remain within the margins of the document.
