WD2002: Blue Bar Does Not Highlight All Text Before Wizard Advances to Next Page (275997)

The first time that you use speech recognition, you are asked to train speech. You read prepared text aloud in the Microsoft Speech Recognition Training Wizard.

As you dictate the initial training session, a light blue bar appears to highlight text that the computer has tentatively recognized but not yet confirmed. When the computer confirms that the text that you dictated is recognized, the text is highlighted with a dark blue bar.

Occasionally, you may find that text that was highlighted by the light blue bar is no longer highlighted, and that the blue bar no longer advances as you dictate. This behavior indicates that the computer has lost track of where you are in the dictation process. When this happens, you should stop dictating, back up, and start dictating from the point where the text is not yet highlighted.

Additionally, the dark blue bar does not finish highlighting all of the text before the wizard advances to the next page of text. Don't be concerned about this. Even though all of the text on the screen has not yet been highlighted, the computer advances to the next page of text when it has recognized and confirmed all of the text that you have dictated on the screen. Continue speaking, and the computer continues to highlight recognized text on the next screen.

Additional training may increase speech-recognition accuracy. At any time after you complete the first training session, you can go back to the Training Wizard to select another training text.
