WD2002: Change-Tracking Balloons Move Text to Right in Book Fold Document (275994)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, when you are tracking changes in a document and the change-tracking comment balloon appears, the text may unexpectedly move to the right.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the change-tracking balloon is set to appear in the left margin of the document, and the document is set up as a book fold document.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, move the change-tracking balloon to the right margin. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Track Changes tab, under Balloons and in the Margin box, click Right.
  3. Click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
