Cannot View Tips and Tour After Windows Millennium Edition Upgrade (275903)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Start, point to Accessories, and then click Tips and Tour, you may receive an error message that indicates that the Welcome.exe file cannot be found.

CAUSE

This issue can occur after you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based computer to Windows Millennium Edition (Me). The Welcome.exe file is not included with Windows Me, and the link to this file is not removed after the upgrade finishes.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:
  1. Right-click the Start button, and then click Open.
  2. Double-click the Programs folder, and then double-click the Accessories folder.
  3. Right-click Tips and Tour, and then click Delete.
