The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2002
  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000
  • Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack 2
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (all editions)

This article was previously published under Q275725

SYMPTOMS

The SQL Server task (Sqlservr.exe) may allocate more memory after you run several Commerce Server DTS packages. To verify this, view the SQL Server memory allocation before and after you run Commerce Server DTS tasks.

CAUSE

This is a typical occurrence in the operations of Commerce Server DTS tasks. The SQL Server task releases the memory within a few hours. The time that is required for memory reallocation depends on your hardware configuration (such as processor speed, memory, and load), and can be as short as a few minutes.
