OL97: An Added Toolbar Button May Cause a Memory Leak When You Install a Microsoft Exchange Client Extension (275717)

When you install and use a Microsoft Exchange Client extension that adds a Toolbar button in Outlook and then you type or move the cursor to a new message, Outlook leaks memory in 4 kilobyte (KB) increments.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Outlook does not release an internal resource when the bitmap resource for the Toolbar button is refreshed.
RESOLUTION
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 98.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
