Error Message Occurs When Applying Client Add Pack (275638)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to apply a BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) Client Add Pack that has been successfully converted from version 4.0 to 4.5 by using the Client Add Pack Conversion utility, you may receive the following error messages:
This Client Add Pack disk has already been used to add client licenses. If you need additional client licenses, you must purchase another Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server Client Add Pack.

If you have reinstalled Small Business Server and need to restore the existing licenses, see Support.txt on the Client Add Pack disk for technical support information.

Please insert the same Client Add Pack disk that you began with.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you did not run the Conversion utility on the same server that you are applying the converted Client Add Pack to.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, run the Conversion utility on the same server that you are applying the converted Client Add Pack to. You can download the SBS Client Add Pack Conversion utility from the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/sbserver/downloads/CAP_Upgrade.asp

If you are experiencing this issue after you converted your Client Add Pack disks, contact Microsoft to request replacement media; these disks can no longer be used on the server.

The SBS Client Add Pack Conversion Utility can be downloaded from the following Web site:

The Conversion utility only works on SBS 4.0 and SBS 4.0a Client Add Pack disks. You cannot rerun the utility with disks at the appropriate server. You must run the Conversion utility on the same SBS-based computer that you are using the converted Client Add Packs on.
