XADM: MAPI Messages Stack Up in Send Queue to the Host Specified in Forward Unresolved Recipients (275596)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q275596 SYMPTOMS
When you specify a third-party Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server or Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 in Forward all mail with unresolved recipients to host on the Messages tab of the SMTP Virtual Server properties, MAPI messages sent to unresolved recipients stack up in the send queue of the SMTP connector to the server.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. When a MAPI message is sent to unresolved recipients, Exchange 2000 sends binary blob in the SMTP DATA command. The other SMTP server cannot finish receiving the message, and the message stays in the send queue.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
