The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word 2001 for Macintosh
This article was previously published under Q275413 SYMPTOMS
When a scrolling text object (scrolling marquee) is added to a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac, Word may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your HTML document contains an HTML object such as a Submit or a Reset button, and a scrolling text object is added that overlaps the edge of the form containing the HTML object.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, insert the scrolling text object in a position where it does not overlap another form object.
Click the Hide/View icon on the standard toolbar to see hidden text and form objects in your Web page.
NOTE: If a program stops responding, you can press COMMAND+OPTION+ESC to force the program to quit. Unsaved work will be lost.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
