WD2001: Format Font Dialog Box Is Displayed While You Edit Contacts (275393)

SYMPTOMS

When you open your contact information in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac, when you click the Home tab and you then press COMMAND+D, Word displays the Font dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because COMMAND+D is a Word keyboard shortcut that opens the Font dialog box instead of changing the check box in the Address Book as expected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac.

There are two ways to get to the Home tab in Address Book in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac. Use either method.

Method 1

  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbar, and then click Contact.
  2. Select the name of a contact in your document.
  3. On the Contacts toolbar, click Open Contact.
  4. Click the Home tab.

Method 2

  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click the User Information tab, and then click More.
  3. Click the Home tab.
