WD98: Memory Error Message Appears When You Click Paste Command in Word After Typing Text into Stickies (275346)

SYMPTOMS

When you do the following
  1. Start your computer and then start the Stickies program.
  2. Type text.
  3. Start Excel 98 Macintosh Edition or Word 98 Macintosh Edition.
  4. Click Paste on the Edit menu.
the following or a similar error message may appear:
There is not enough memory or disk space to complete the operation.

CAUSE

Typing text into Stickies places an empty text item into the Clipboard. Even though the Paste command is available in Word or Excel, there is nothing available on the Clipboard to paste.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, always copy any text or other object before you attempt to paste it into Excel or Word.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade to Office 2001 for Mac.
