HomeClick Network Profiles Do Not Function on Windows Millennium (275342)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

This article was previously published under Q275342

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the HomeClick Network Profiles feature on Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may receive the following error message:
HomeClick Network Center was unable to change your network profile. Network profiles cannot be used with this version of Windows.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the HomeClick software included with the 3Com HomeConnect kit has been designed to run on Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, and Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition. Network profiles do not function on Windows Me. However, all of the other functions of the HomeClick software work in Windows Me as they do on the preceding Windows platforms.
