SUMMARY

The Commerce Server Upgrade Tool allows you to upgrade from the beta version of Commerce Server 2000 to Commerce Server 2000 Final Preview (Release Candidate 0).

Although, the Commerce Server 2000 Beta Upgrade tool upgrades the beta release cleanly, upgrading from Internal Development Server (IDS) 5 and IDS 6 leaves the display name of the old global resources.

For example:
Beta NameIDS5 NameIDS6 NameRC0 Name
ResourceBizDataBusinessDataBusiness DataProfiles

MORE INFORMATION

The upgrade tool properly renames the BizData resource to Profiles when you upgrade from the beta. However, when you upgrade from IDS 5 or IDS 6, the upgrade tool leaves the old resource name in the list of resources on that computer. If you package the upgraded site by using the Commerce Site Packager, and then unpackage it to another computer running Release Candidate 0 (RC0), the resources are properly named.

On the server that has been upgraded, everything continues to work properly even though the display names in the Commerce Server Manager MMC are displayed incorrectly.
