The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q275176 SYMPTOMS
When you use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) messages may not work correctly. This behavior may occur with SMTP messages from a Netscape client that uses SSL.
CAUSE
SMTP ignores data bytes that are transmitted with the resume-ssl-session packet. If the SSL resume-session packet is used (as it is in Netscape Communicator), the first packet contains both the resume-session SSL packet and the first few bytes of SMTP traffic.
