ACC2002: Arabic Letter "Alef" Becomes Disconnected from Words in Tables (275103)

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).
SYMPTOMS
When you type text in a Microsoft Access table by using the Arabic keyboard, the character "Alef" may appear to be unconnected to the rest of the word to which it belongs.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if the table has been assigned one of the following fonts:
- Arabic Transparent
- Courier
- Fixedsys
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, change the font to something other than Arabic Transparent, Courier, or Fixedsys. To change the font, follow these steps:
- In Datasheet view, click any cell in the table.
- On the Format menu, click Font.
- In the Font dialog box, click Times New Roman under Font, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
